engine cleaning
I just read Steve Shaeffer's great July4th weekend report, and was reminded
that his biggest problems were caused by bead-blasting.
I'm just starting an engine rebuild (fully dismantled) and when I'm finished I
want the outside of the engine to look like new (no way I'm bolting a
half-clean engine into that brand-new engine-bay). So what is the best way to
do this, given the evident dangers of bead-blasting (which I have read will
make it look new). Is there a safe way to bead blast? other abrasives? wire
brushes? paint? chemicals?
Thanks,
Richard Lane
