Obviously appearance isn't your greatest concern so go to a farm supply
store (maybe even a hardware store) and get a bottle of liquid latex
canvas cement. It will stick anything made of cloth, together forever and
it's flexible and waterproof. (Cheap too!)
Use a piece of black cloth (black denim would work nicely) and follow the
directions on the bottle.
DO NOT get any on your clothes or carpet. it's very permanant! It will
however, easily rub off of your fingers like a booger.
If you have any thin spots or leaky seams in your top that weep, just paint
them from the inside and it will seal them too.
