filler boot, questions, continued

Digesti,
The trick, is to install the boot in the car first, then drop the gas tank
into the trunk. A little motor oil on the filler pipe helps to prevent unseating
the boot. The present problem being that there is no obvious route for
spilled gas to exit the GTV trunk. The filler boot has a nozzle drain, buy unlike
the spider, which has an opening between the fender and the gas tank, the GTV is
closed. Where does spilled gas go? It can't be into the trunk space. Thanks
again, Digest.
