Re: Spider erratic idling??????



My understanding is that the solenoid is there to allow the fuel vapors to be 
burned when the ECU says it's acceptable to do so.  Not much chance of 
collapsing the fuel tank with the solenoid blocked off since the motronic cars, 
like the earlier cars, have a check valve to allow the air in.  Also, I don't 
think the pressure will be high enough to do any harm since Spica cars did not 
have such a valve and we don't hear of any bursting fuel tanks!  

Still, the solenoid should be replaced if it is not working, but more likely, 
one of the lines to it are leaking air.
