re: Injector fuel line hose

Yikes, you're right. I feel like quite the fool, now that I look at two of the receipts on my bedroom floor:

BMW Store: 1 meter (3.28ft), 13 31 1 469 781 "8x13" fuel hose, $10
AutoZone: 6ft (1.83m), 240844 65152 Goodyear 5/16" FI hose, $26.94

All these years, I'd been going to the BMW dealer to get the "good stuff" only when I needed to make leak-free connections with OEM barbed hose fittings on the fuel rail, and assumed I was saving money by getting the locally-available 5/16" stuff (that works out to 7.94mm, while I believe "8x13" metric stuff is actually 7.5mm OD) for all my other EFI work. D'oh! I guess I'll be stocking up on EFI hose at the BMW dealer from now on. Thanks for the heads-up Bill! It's too bad I couldn't have picked up some dirty socks and drawn the conclusion from my own data a long time ago.

FWIW, Jeff Greenfield was kind enough to forward me the part number for
BMW's 8mm x 13mm FI hose --. At $10/meter, it's cheaper
than the "Amurican" stuff from Pep Boys. Now if my injectors would only
come back from Marren . . . .
