mystery o-ring, v6 (de)tensioner

Hi,
I'm a singular ~20mm o-ring included in the v6 (de)tensioner rebuild kit.
The shop manual does not show where I (or a couple of my o-ring buddies)go,
and I don't seem to have a place on the (de)tensioner.
Can someone please help me find my home?

It's not either spot on the oiling pin nor the bearing holder.
It's not the big fat spot on the piston, or the hidden spot on the piston's
rod, or even the exposed spot outside.
Finally, it's not the little spot in the mounting plate between the engine and
the (de)tensioner.
So where'm I s'posed to go?
