I thought the same thing, but was too lazy to post about it. I think John H. also mentioned cars that had only one U-joint in the driveshaft--I think that's what actually set off the first red flag in my head. I believe it may have been the reference to pre-'35 Alfas and pre-'49 Fords, but I'm not sure I completely understood the description of that system anyway.
