Joel,
Did it "self center" before you adjusted the steering box?  If it did, you got
the box too tight.  If not, you need an alignment.

Alfisti,
  Aftering tightening the nut under the steering box of the '74 GTV it
steers wonderfully with no slop in the wheel at all.   Only problem is that
it does not self center after going around a corner.  All the suspension
bits are new.  I am thinking too much positive caster... any thoughts?
