Adjusting Gasketed Windshields

I am in the middle of putting my GTV back together after getting it
painted.  In this go-round, I've switched to a gasketed front
windshield.  I was able to get the windshield installed, but it wasn't
positioned exactly where it should be.  Is there a trick that I can use
to move the windshield and gasket assembly left about an eighth of an
inch that doesn't involve removal and reinstallation?
