steering wheel center
Okay, speaking of 115 series and depending on what sort of steering box you
have let's start from the beginning. What's the history here? The wheel is
keyed and the box output shaft is splinted. If it was off a tooth it would
have been obvious for some time - it's not something that gets messed with a
lot.
If it's a ZF box then the center spot will be critical because it's a
worm/cam kind of thingy and as you go off center the cam follower in the
worm changes it's angle and the freeplay increases. The Burman box is
totally different but because of the age and the design of the thing there
is probably going to be a big wear spot in the center position.
But either way, if the steering box has not been messed with and the pitman
arm hasn't been removed then the solution lies with the rod adjustments.
