You need to remove the chrome at the base of the windshield. Remove the two
screws and pull it towards the front of the car. Remove the four screws in
the channel where the rear edge of the hood sits, collect the gasket and the
doohingoids that the screws thread into.

To remove the wiper arms, there should be a cap at the end of the wiper arm
that can be lifted up to reveal the retaining nuts. Lift the wiper arm up
off the windshield, and while moving it down towards the windshield, pivot
the cap up. You can then remove the nuts and the wiper arms. There maybe
another larger nut under this that you need to remove in order to remover
the plastic spacer. This was eliminated on the late(r) cars, but not sure
when the change occurred.

You can now remove the panel by lifting it up slightly at the front and
pulling it out towards the front of the car.

Good luck putting it all back together, it is a real PITA to get everything
back under the clips correctly.  It helps to have another pair of hands on
the other side of the car.

Greetings Guys/Gals, I'm starting to attack the small rust areas that have
been popping up lately. I have a small area of rust starting in the gap
between the wiper valance(cowl) where it meets the front fender. I would
like to remove the valance so I can get this taken care of. I have a shop
manual, but seems those chapters have been omited from my copy. I can see
the chrome trim below the windshield and screws under the hood gasket need
to be removed. Is there any other hidden hardware I should look for and how
