94 164LS Vacuum Problem Maybe....

Good afternoon all...
Here we go again!
The LS is back at the mechanic. A few days ago I started her up and she was
running rough.
Just had injectors replaced and new 45mm intake runners.
On the way to work I got intermittent check engine light and 1223 code.
Also power assist for the brakes was flaky. worked for 1 pump after driving
then rock hard.
Drove DIRECTLY to the shop.
So far... Found loose vacuum hose in fender well.
Was still getting 1223 codes but not as rough running.
New o2 sensor (and was replaces 4 months ago as well) got rid of the code.
Intake manifold vacuum is at 8 and should be higher supposedly.
Was jumping all over the place before the hose was fixed.
Suspecting sticky lifters or may have jumped a tooth on timing.
Going to tear things open and check timing and compression for starters.
Was wondering if anyone has seen this before I have him tear the engine down
again.
Any clues welcome.

Thanks!
