I've been reading what people have had to say about Fred, who I had the
pleasure of knowing a little from e-mails, and I think that these
comments and remembrances make a wonderful memorial.  I'm sure he would
be delighted to see it written that his time and energies meant so much
to so many of the Alfa community.
