RE: Cleaning very dirty wheels
Don -
If they are at the point where you don't have much too loose, I'd try the
following going from mild to aggressive.
Softscrub
Comet
SOS pads or the equivalent
I seem to recall using the SOS pads on some very dirty GTV-6 wheels once,
with amazing results. Just take your time and don't 'rub' too hard.
As an aside, I once had a customer with an older white car with tailpipes
that came straight out the back. He never cleaned the car, so the back of
the car had a black/grey dingy oily film on it. I found the quickest and
easiest way to clean this was with softscrub. The results were remarkable
with very little effort.
YMMV,
Jeff

Subject: Cleaning very dirty wheels
'Looking for ideas to clean the very, very dirty wheels on my 91 L. The car
sat up for several months and the brake/road crude on the wheels laughs at
the usual wheel cleaner stuff. Anyone have a homemade remedy? Is there a
power tool attachment that can be used to scrub out this stuff without
damage to the wheel?
Thanks,
Don
