Audi Nuvolari?
I'm behind on my auto show news, so when did Audi decide to appropriate the
Nuvolari name for one of their ugly concept cars? I know he drove for them
in 1938 and 1939, but why not an Audi Rosemeyer or Audi Hasse? I don't
know why I should be surprised. German automakers have been giving Italian
monikers for their wares for decades. Look Porsche's Carrera and Targa
(named long before Porsche had the top spot in number of wins in the race).
What's next? A Mercedes Mille Miglia? They did win that race twice. Or
an Alfa Romeo Carraciolo? He may have driven German cars for 3 decades,
but he did drive for Alfa for one whole season.
