Re: chassis stiffener



So, let me get this right. My Spider will be stiffer for maybe 6 hours or so, and then the next time I get to a RR crossing the same old chassis flex will occur?

On a serious note, I've got both a '74 and '87 Spider in the driveway, and the '87 is quite noticeably less flexible than the '74. The '74 is fairly solid, as '74's go, but nothing like the '87. Why is the '87 so much better? The only 'improvements' I can see from the underside are some extra chassis braces in the area around the gas tank, but no visible new bracing up front (in fact the '87 nose is bottomless, compared to the '74). Is the chassis made from heavier steel, are the rockers different internally?
