ok, i think maybe it's time to create sort-of-offtopic, as opposed to
offtopic.

background: a few folks complained that offtopic, with discussion of
things like religion, politics, and war, was perhaps too offtopic for
their taste. so i think i'll create cars@domain.elided for otherwise
offtopic automotive discussions.
