Advice on brake repairs needed

Alfisti,
I am now driving my 77 spider on a daily basis.  I am having an issue
with sticking brakes.  Frequently the brake pedal will remain partially
depressed after I lift my foot off it.  The brake pedal will stay in
that position until I slip my foot behind the pedal and push it up.  I
suspect a that the master cylinder seals are degraded and may be getting
the piston stuck.  The car doesn't pull to one side or the other...the
brakes just drag.  Is my assessment of the MC likely?  Is there some
other way to diagnose without teardown?  Also, is there any way to
determine the size of the MC piston without teardown and measuring.   I
would like to order the overhaul kit beforehand so that I have minimal
down time.
