synthetic oil

A couple of points that I haven't seen mentioned:

- Mobil 1 now comes in 0 weight (e.g. 0w-30) which helps with cold starts.
- All cars have a certain amount of piston blowby.  Older cars have more 
which makes
  the oil get dirty quicker and hence need oil changing sooner than new cars.

I've recently switched to 0w-30 Mobil 1 on a couple of cars that the manual 
says should
use 5w-30.
