In addition to the differences Dana refers to, in the early cars - the lower 
"cross piece" that the A arms attach to use a single bolt on each end to tie 
to the chassis.  later cars use 2 per.
spindles are diff & use diff wheel bearings.  also the early cars have the 
lower knuckle for steering attach.  
the good thing is that many of the parts are interchangeable - the A arms are 
the same, upper arms are the same. both will fit on either spindle or lower 
cross piece.
so can upgrade earlier cars to later specs.
