The 'standard' American flasher unit retails for around $3 - $5.  I
don't know about 6v applications, but the 12v stuff is all pretty much
the same.  The markings on the terminals were the same as the Alfa Bosch
flasher unit in my '72 Spider, for example, all I had to do was add one
simple jumper wire to accommodate the separate grounds in the Alfa
wiring.

If you're talking $5 for a standard unit vs $120+ for the Alfa flasher,
then it's worth looking into.  I'm not sure the savings over a $15
Yamaha flasher will be worth your time.
