    I agree with the eminent CM that it's hard to beat the Corvette on a
bang-for-the-buck basis, but Europhiles have their heroes too: witness the
BMW M3 GTR(?) that dominated Porche in the GT class (before they were
banned) that featured a V8 sourced from a 5 Series.  In street trim, seems
to me it gets 400HP from 4.5L, with a 500HP V10 on the way for the next M5.
Mercedes has a few decent mills too!  Europeans and Japanese have more of a
taste for hi-tech solutions, and demand these things in their cars.  Kind of
like the debate between F1 and Nascar.  To each his own.  Cheers, RON.
