Stefano,
i'm assuming you mean a Bertone GTV ? i have no experience
with Alfetta GTV turn signals. the easiest and surest solution
would be to buy a new unit, but they are expensive, almost
$400, and i don't know about their availability.
now, in going through my entire electrical system on my '73 GTV
recently, i cleaned all the contacts and lubed up my signal /
headlight switches. luckily, mine still holds it's position fairly
well. the unit is all factory riveted together, so i would not
suggest complete dissasemby to adjust. but i can think of
a few things you might try :
1. there are two brass posts on the base of the column lever
which push against a contacter plate. each posts closes the
electrical circuit for each side turn signal to the flasher relay.
those posts have coil springs around them which puts
tension against the plate, and holds the lever in position.
there might be a way you could shim the springs for more
tension. maybe using an e-clip or two.
2. check the condition of your cancelation spring, which wraps
around the steering column. this spring can also help hold
the lever in place. scuff the surface of the column so the
spring gets some good friction. replace the spring if it is
loose. the spring should wrap around the column approx
450 degrees.
3. use a ball bit on a dremel, and make SMALL divets in the
contacter plate plastic, where the posts sit in neutral position.
these are things i might try on my own car, to save money. the
dremel thing might cause permanent damage, and is a hokey,
amateur solution, so do so at your own risk.
of course you could always :
4. buy a good used unit from a alfa parting place, such as APE,
and bolt it in.
you will need to remove the plastic column shrouds and the
steering wheel to do ANY of this. the shrouds are held on,
sandwich style, by 5 allen head bolts accessed from
underneath ( well, on a 115 car anyway ). use a 3mm key.
good luck,
dion fields
