RE: Electronic modules for performance vehicles

Hello fellow alfisti,

Has anyone any comments with the product advertised below?

I remember chips for sale for Motronic systems that had minimal results.
Others thought they were okay.

Is there any problem/chance of piston burn, injector damage, or other
expensive electronic damage which may occur?

Cost looks like around $400.00 which includeds shipping from South Africa,
connecting cable, software which is windows compatible. You just need the
laptop.

As always, you comments and thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Subject: Electronic modules for performance vehicles

As some of you may know I have been manufacturing after-market modules for
performance vehicles for several years as a part time hobby. The market has
grown
substantially since I first started and it has become a full time occupation.
Because of this I have now registered a company, B&G Electronics, to
manufacture
these in volume.

The first product launched is the Megasquirt MKII EFI controller which is
built under
licence from the original designers, Bruce Bowling & Al Grippo (hence the B&G
Electronics). The MKII version has a number of features not incorporated in
the original
design (which is a self-assembly electronics kit) and can be fitted to any
vehicle
currently
equipped with L-Jetronic. It comes in two versions, non-turbo or turbo with
up to 1.5bar
boost capability. Because it uses the original AFM it retains compatibility
with the
original
Bosch system and the original harness is easily modified to suit the
Megasquirt MKII.
Programming is by using the supplied software and requires a lap-top or desk
top pc.
An optional programming cable is available. The manual for the system is
supplied as an
Adobe pdf file on disk, so saving on costly printed manuals, and has plenty of
operating
and connection diagrams to cover just about any setup you might require.

Other modules in the range are: Capacitor Discharge Ignition compatible
with
practically any vehicle.
Turbo-Fueler which drives additional injectors to increase fueling under high
boost
conditions. Designed to interface either with the Megasquirt MKII or used as a
stand-alone
unit.
Shift-Light indicator which operates in a similar way to the Ferrari F1 unit
with a
bar-graph display to alert the driver of the optimum shifting point.
A Rev-Limiter module which protects your engine from excessive rpm, fits just
about any
vehicle.

New products under development are a companion ignition controller to match
the Megasquirt
MKII, and several others which I prefer to keep a secret until ready for
launch!

All of these units are ruggedly packaged, fully tested and carry a 12 months
warranty.
The fitting of any of these units has been designed to be simple and only
needs simple
hand tools, if you can strip a wire and connect it to a terminal block then
you can fit
any of these in very little time. Full instructions are shipped with each
unit.

As the manufacturing base is in South Africa where labour rates are
considerably lower
than other countries, and we have lower component pricing than the rest of the
world, I
have been able to pass on substantial savings to the customer. For example
the Megasquirt
MKII is about 2/3rd the price of any comparable product.

If any one wishes additional information they can drop me an email requesting
brochures
and pricing details in Word format. Shipping is at cost via your choice of
shipping.
