Milano trunk hinge is screwed up..

Hello,

When i go to open the trunk there is a lot of resistance, it opens. Then i try to close it and it won't (no resistance in open latch) .. Anyway, i took all the plastic/carpeting out of the trunk hinge cover and got to it, it doesnt snap back once its opened..Any ideas??
