Anti-theft trick

When I was a low-budget student in beautiful West Philadelphia, I used to
carry the rotor from my distributor with me. I figured that a thief would
never look under the distributor cap if the subject of their desire wouldn't
start.

Of course, this was AFTER my car was stolen and recovered once...and I had
an easily accessible distributor (1971 Datsun 240Z).
