Distributor

Hi all,

4 cylinder Alfa engine, EFI:
supposing a distributor got some moisture or wet (engine wash),
is it possible that the 4 points located on the distributor top
part (the part that's removable) get oxidized, and appear in
unhealty green color?
If so, is it correct cleaning them using a metal brush or sand paper?
