noisy differential

Any cures for a squeeky differential, besides tearing the whole thing apart
and scouring the earth for those little clutch plates? It makes noise when turning
sharply and applying power only, so the gear mechanism (don't know the technical term)
should be okay, but I think the various clutch plates inside the differential housing are
making the sound. Could the cause of this be as simple as replacing the diff. oil?
I doubt that the improper type of oil would be in there, since the car was previously cared
for by APC in laguna hills, but I suppose anything is possible.
What type/brand of oil is recomended? The factory manual states AGP-5 80W90, but
I hear a lot of people have had sucess with Redline products in the trans....what about
in the diff?

Thanks!
