RE: Milano Rear-View Mirror removal
Believe it or not, you just pull on it; hard.
This explanation won't be very technical, but it will be accurate because I
just recently removed the overhead console on my Milano. The rearview
mirror is held in place by two metal tabs located at either end of a spring
that rides on a shaft. There is a metal housing in the overhead console
that has two holes into which the tabs fit. The spring pushes the tabs
outward into the holes thus holding the rearview mirror in place with
tension. Luckily, it's designed in such a way that it doesn't come apart
when you pull the rearview mirror out. Once you have the rearview mirror
out, four screw will be exposed, & those are holding the overhead console in
place. There's also a nut behind the little spotlight in the overhead
console in case you haven't found that yet.
NOW; let me qualify all of this by saying that I have only owned my Milano
since mid-November, & it's my first Milano. If fact, it's my first V6 Alfa.
Therefore, if there were other designs of rearview mirrors used on the
Milanos, I have no knowledge them. I only know what I've done with my car.
I'd hate for you to break something by following my advise. :-)

Hey folks,
How does one get the mirror out to remove the plastic overhead when
installing a new headliner?
Thanks in advance,
