Alfas as orphans

If one needed more evidence that Alfas are becoming a rare breed in their
US orphan status, there are currently no Alfas for sale in the print San
Francisco Chronicle classified ads, and haven't been for more than a week
(sfgate.com does have three, but those are coming from somewhere else,
including a TZ for $160,000).

For that matter, newsletter classified ads are getting scarce too.
Admittedly this is the slow time of year for car sales, but I happened
across an SF Chron from the mid 90s the other day that had more than 20
Alfas for sale, and 14 pages total of car ads. Now it's three or four.
And compare the number of cars for sale in a recent Alfa Owner to Owners
from the 70s; an amazing difference. I realize there are multiple forces
at work here, but am struck by the comparison.
