RE: Milano Radiator Water level indicator
I have a cork in mine, put there under the rule of the previous owner by the Alfa shop. The previous owner was a chequebook mechanic, and I have a receipt from the Alfa shop that states: "Removed float from radiator overflow bottle. Float waterlogged. Replaced with cork." Receipt is dated 1996.

Try replacing the float with an actual cork (assuming you're girly enough
to drink wine) --that's what my buddy did on his Milano (75 V6) and it's
been working for a year and a half now.
