Er... pardon my earlier statement.  I momentarily forgot that the water 
pump has a purpose other than to hold a fan, like... Oh!  I know this 
one... pumping water!
sheesh!
What I was trying to get at is this;  Do the Alfettas or late Spiders 
have maybe a shorter pulley since they never had to hold a fan up to 
the radiator?  Even a little bit more clearance would probably make the 
difference in my electric puller fan installation.
