Groaning noise / 91 spider veloce

If i am stopped at a red light while on a hill and i have to release my 
clutch pedal quick i hear  a groaning sound. I can also feel like something 
is slipping or holding back for a brief second. I was thinking maybe a throw 
out bearing. Any idea's.
