Here's a trick I learned from Peter Krause a couple of years ago during a tech
session:
The leading edge of the pad tends to dive into the rotor and produce a
vibration akin to the fingernail on the chalkboard thing we did as kids.  If
you taper that leading edge, the vibration goes away.
Also, put the anti squeal stuff on the back of the pads as others have
suggested.
It cured the last two I worked on.
