Subject: Duetto starter solenoid

Hi Everyone,
I just removed the suspected faulty starter solenoid. Interesting job.
Can these be rebuilt ? Or do I have to find a replacement ?

I think the best thing to do is find a replacement. I am hard headed and
haven't yet! I pulled mine off, cleaned it and oiled it (Fred says put it in
dry) and it went about 3 months and stuck again. So, I pulled it out and
cleaned it and put it in dry (See Fred, sometimes I do listen!) and it stuck
again in 3 months or so. The third time, I pulled it out, cleaned it and
lubed it Molybdenum Disulfide (Molly B) grease and so far it has lasted past
the 3 month point. But, when it acts up the next time--Ciao, and a new on is
going in!!
That's a Bosch starter so any rebuild shop should either have the solonoid or
be able to get it for you.
