Fiat Reorganizes

According to 'Automotive News -Europe', Fiat is reorganizing in a bid 
to stave off the General Motors stock put which obligates them to buy 
the remaining 80% of Fiat Auto in the next few years. Part of this 
re-org, is the long hoped-for coupling of Alfa Romeo with 
Ferrari/Maserati (Hooray!) to form an automotive "Supergruppo." There 
is always the unexpected in deals like this, however, and in this case 
the unexpected is an investment in the new "Supergruppo" by VW. Their 
minority participation will consist mostly of some cross pollination of 
technology and manufacturing methodology, as well as the Supergruppo's 
access to VW cash. Things are looking up!
