A VW-Alfa ?

Alfa Romeo brand will be moved from Fiat Auto and put into a new luxury group 
alongside Ferrari and Maserati. 
According to an Italian press report that could not be confirmed, Volkswagen

Alfa-Ferrari-Maserati business unit.

Does this mean that we are going to see a 156GTA  or 166 derivative with a 
W-8 engine in it ?
Or a Beetle with an Alfa V-6 Turbo in it ? My mouth waters at the thoughts. 
The above just about confirms what I was told at the recent SF Motor show by 
a Ferrari rep.
