       There is a nylon string secondary trunk release behind the seat back 
for the rear passengers.  However, if the screws are loose on the trunk 
latch, the secondary release will not work either.
       Remove the rear license plate and as much of the plastic behind it as 
you can get easily.  Then drill a hole - as I remember, the hole should be a 
couple of inches down from the top of the license plate and just right of 
center.  Done correctly, you can put a screwdriver through the hole and push 
the trunk release lever.
       Of course, it would help to drill the hole before you need it when you 
can drill it from the inside out and put it exactly in the correct place.  Do 
you have a friend with a similar Alfa you could look at to figure where to 
drill?
