Throwout bearing support
I am in the process of cleaning my gearbox and bellhousing in the
solvent tank and am having trouble removing the fork for the throw-out
bearing. It is held in to two cast-in towers that are part of the
bellhousing. It pivots on two metal dowels/bearings which are secured
to the towers by way of a roll-pin.
Has anyone tried removing these? It's hard to get at the roll pins from
behind because there's not enough room to get a punch and hammer back
there, but tapping them out from the front doesn't seem right either.
Anyone?
