webers vs spica one "restored/original" 69 berlina

Sorry for the jumbled previous post
To regurgitate.......

I prefer the spica system, tho the early systems (69) were more
difficult
to adjust the idle.. Later 1750's had the updated airbox and single idle
air
adjustment on the intake manifold, which is what i would use.
The "pre-cutoff solenoid" pumps have been described as more "race
worthy"
because of the lack of a cut off solenoid......personally i think the 72
pump
and it's fuel cam is the best of the stock spica pumps.

In this case, he already has webers, they already work
(supposedly). the question really is, what's he use the car for? webers
aren't
original US spec if it's a restoration......
if it's just a "daily driver", it works, why mess with it?

Now if he want's cams, high compression and all the other
goodies......
For me, the spica seems much easier to "tune" but i suppose that
depends
on whether you have spica tools or weber parts handy. Personally i find
the
richness adjustment of the cut-off solenoid or maybe twisting the lever
on the
altitude compensator infinitely preferable to the tedium of jets and
venturies.

FI is SUCH a step forward, even if it's an old mechanical system such as

our beloved Spica.

Would i take a perfectly good weber system off to reinstall the
Spica? Probably not, and definitely not without having the spica system
"checked out".
