Spider V.V.T. followup...

According to the AR engine overhaul manual(Spider 2.0L):

1982-1983:  Mechanical Variable Valve Timing Device (V.V.T)

Mid 1983:  Electric V.V.T. controlled by the L-Jetronic throttle position switch

Oddly enough, my car's production date is 04/1984 (M.Y. 1984) and it doesn't 
have the electric V.V.T.
