The main ingredient in MMO is wintergreen oil, which has been known for
centuries as an excellent lubricant. Take a big sniff next time you open a
bottle. The purpose of adding a lubricant - not an octane booster - is a
little 'insurance' for the valves in the Spica pump. Anyway, shouldn't the
addition of a less combustible substance to gas increase the octane number ?
The octane number refers the ability to resist predetonation under
compression. What's the octane number of water?
