You are entirely correct, I was just trying to simplify the process. As we
are using the same pump (the engine)at sea level and at altitude, the
process would have the same imperfections in both cases.....remove "147PSI"
and insert "X PSI"
I still belive the ppressure would be less at altitude regardless of
absolute numbers.

Absolutely incorrect. You need to allow for the fact that you are dealing
with an imperfectly adiabatic compression process, and also for the cam
timing.
