Blown oil filters

Hi,

    Even if your pressure relief valve is not suspect there is a small 
part you can use to be sure the gasket on your filter stays intact. It's 
basically a metal ring that surrounds the gasket and fits between the 
filter and the block. It keeps the ring from being forced out of place by 
excess pressure. It's available through most race parts sources.
   If you are blowing out the metal canister itself, there's something 
really wrong and you need to change the brand of filter you're using and/or 
repair the relief valve.
