Mark,
	Why not just take it to a welding shop and have them weld it?  Probably
won't cost more than $25 to have it done if you clean off the piece so
that there isn't any prep work to be done.  

	You can buy non-ferrous filler rods (http://durafix.com/) that require
only a propane torch.  They are demonstrated at car shows all the time. 
I've got a few rods but never have had the opportunity to use them.

	Or use some JB Weld on it.
