I think it depends on the model year, but I went through this on my
1974 Spider. I first installed a stock air box from an early 70s 2000
spider. Only problem was that my car has a 1750 in it and the air box
had a 2000 identity plate on it. No big deal but I thought a 1750
plate would be nice. I got a box from an earlier 1750 car which was
identical to the 2000 air box. Both fit fine and other than the plate
looked the same. I ended up taking the 1750 plate, which was in
excellent condition on that box and putting it on my 2000 air box
though as the 1750 box was rusted. I would expect you could use either
box.
