MASERATI CONSIDERING ADDING SPORT-UTILITY TO VEHICLE LINEUP

NEW YORK -- Maserati S.p.A. might build a sport-utility. "We are thinking of
something new to add to the lineup, something along the lines of a
sport-utility, but with elegance, with performance, something that would be
for leisure time," said Maurizio Parlato, the new CEO of Ferrari and
Maserati North America.

Maserati hopes to sell 10,000 cars a year worldwide by 2006, compared with
an estimated 3,500 this year. U.S. sales should be about 6,000 by 2006, the
company said
