re: Rebirth of Italian Engineering

Excellent firsts, Michael, but don't forget aviation. The Italians produced
many planes during the 30s that won speed & endurance races, and some of the
best fighters during WW2 were made by Macchi, Reggiane, and Fiat (with
built-under-license Daimler engines). Of course, I'll have to add the
renaissance of Italian motorcycling -- look at MV, Benelli, Moto Guzzi -- not
to mention Aprilia & Ducati. The latter is in a head-to-head race with Honda
for World Superbike points.
