Re: Q4 on Ebay

That would make it a Q rather than a Q4, with two driven wheels and five forward gears. The 33 number he gave you was probably the number that they imported in 1995, which when added with some 1994 number will yield the total of 74 164Q's to the USA in '94-95 that I've been told by Skip Jones and various othe sources I choose to trust.

The 164 I encountered at Concorso Italiano was a US market car, owned
by an Italian-American gentleman named Rocco Gallo from Coronado
California.

I have seen and driven the Q4 currently on Ebay. It is a gray-market
 car
recently imported from Germany. Note the photos on Ebay of the service
 and
owners manuals. They are in German. The speedo is in kilometers.

Just for the record, 74 FWD 164Q's were officially imported in
'94-95. There are only two known "gray-market" 164Q4's in the
 country.

Yup. Sat in one at Concorso Italiano. This was a black '95 with dark
burgundy leather (one of 33 164Q's imported), was like new inside and
out, and the owner was selling it (wanted $18,000 for it). Had I the
cash, I would have written him a check for it then-and-there. All
 wheel
drive and a six-speed and about as pretty as 164s get!
