no, it's not off topic, because the original question was whether GM would
destroy Alfa. the general discussion was basically bogus because of lack of
focus.

my feeling is that by picking the nearest analog to GM taking over Alfa, we
might get a little more light and a little less heat.

whether that will really be the case remains to be seen.
